Hello! My entire teaching career has been at Central Columbia. Long ago, in 1989, I was hired as a Language Arts teacher. I taught American Literature for many years, and I still do. In addition to a our large textbook filled with short stories and poems, I teach four novels: Grass Dancer, Speak, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and A Gathering of Old Men. Nonetheless, my favorite literature is British Literature. In the Honors English 11 course, I teach Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, and Frankenstein. My students are incredibly lucky to read so many amazing novels, poems, plays and short stories! BUT, that isn't all! I teach British Novel, a delightful elective offered every year as a half year course. In that course, the novels vary from year to year. We read novels by Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Bram Stoker. We also read a contemporary novel, which is to be determined. Last year we read Me Before You.
