Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Letter to Our Community

To the Central Columbia Community,

These are unprecedented times, and there likely will be additional challenges ahead for our school district.  “We may never know if we overreacted, but we will definitely know if we didn’t do enough.” (D. Massengill Ed.D) The Central Columbia School District will do everything to ensure the safety of the community and continue to educate students.

Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, Central Columbia School District will be closed and no access to buildings and/or facilities will be permitted other than employees contacted by the administration.  All employees and students will follow the previously developed plan for Flexible Instructional Days. Details of this plan can be found on our district website.

All teachers will take Monday, March 16th to prepare lessons for students to complete from home.  Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, students will be expected to complete daily assignments.

In addition, the Food Service Department of CCSD will provide free breakfast/lunch to district students.  Grab ‘n Go meals can be picked up at the Elementary School bus lane beginning Monday, March 16th from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  There will be no access to the building.  This will continue daily, following the school calendar until school buildings re-open.

Our primary goal is to ensure all are safe and students are provided with an appropriate continuity of learning.  The Central Columbia community is strong.  Please take care of each other.

Best Regards,

CCSD Leadership Team
